If your reading this journal, please share it in a journal, ect, to get the word around.
I was absolutely upset and appalled after reading what I just did,
From two well known artists and one of there experiences dealing with the Admins of Deviant Art.
I HIGHLY recommend taking a moment to read, or even skim some of the following.
Here is a image showing a conversation between a Deviant and a Deviant Art admin,
The Deviant went to the admin addressing them with a case of art theft, in this scenario there art work was down right traced.
The whole time the admin was stating the same invalid statement as a response, and also kept closing the ticket when proven wrong.
There argument was basically that, since it was a different character, and had different colors. It wasn't infringing.
Here are the two images,
The artist even made a photo showing the pictures together to even further more show the OBVIOUS tracing
Not only does this show that our beloved Deviant Art has immature and irresponsible Admins.
But does this mean that now TRACING is completely fine here?
Not only this, but also the popular well known NinjaKato has also replied to this matter, and is on a silent boycott.
You can see more about this here:
And you can read this journal they made about it :
dA users, you might want to read this post.Warning to all dA users
In case you were wondering what the deal is with why certain cases of 'theft' aren't taken seriously. Pretty much sums it all up with evidence.
Also, most of us know that realitysquared isn't exactly on everyone's 'top 10' list of admins on the internet... Most of the people who have dealt with that particular admin seem to always get the short end of the stick in most cases. Even I am not too fond of them... Just sayin'.
The short story: The reason why 90% of the reports for theft aren't really fixed is because apparently "alterations, edits, traces, and references are becoming regarded as acceptable by dA" -- meaning if someone does any of these things your report will probably be partially ignored if not completely.
Your best bet would be to contact the person directly through a note and ask them to rem
Now to come with a resolution for some of this?
Another popular artist had a GREAT idea, AgentWhiteHawk
Its about making a group featuring art theft and finding original images so this group can be responsible and do something about it if the admins of this site are not going to.
Please check out this journal and look out for this group if this plan comes to reality.
You guys might wanna read this.I'm extremely ticked about this.
Soon, I'm going to start a DA group for this. This group is going to be like an art theft combating group. Everyone in the group will be the eyes and ears to keep people from stealing. All canine/animal art for the canine/animal art circuit will be allowed. The goal of the group is to make sure the art is seen, so if people see something that's stolen, they'll remember having seen it in the group. Then they an go in the group, find the original, and notify the board of the group.
The board will be the admins, and their duty is to professionally post comments aiming toward getting the art removed. The goal of the group IS NOT to get things reported. We will, but if nothing will be done about it then we need other methods. The goal is to overwhelm art thieves. To get people to take notice and protect each other's work. It's not terribly efficient, no. But it will create a central place to start solving this problem. It's not going to
This is really getting on my nerves and either the admins pick up there act, or we really get to do something.
I want to one day be apart of a Deviant Art with a responsible way of taking care of all art theft,
To a point that art theft will be a rare thing we will rarely come by.
Thankyou all who read this all.
